A RECIPE FOR DISASTER is the book about the entertaining journey of an Englishman living in rural Marche Italy whose neighbour, Lia, a restaurant owner and superb chef, persuades him to listen to her cooking up her big idea – making a TV cookery series.

But Lia speaks no English. And Stephen’s partner, Tam, can’t cook. So. with no funding, the three of them embark on filming a six-part TV series set among the rolling hills of Italy’s spectacularly beautiful Le Marche region.

The book weaves it’s way through the countryside, sampling local delicacies, delicacies, partying at festivals, learning about the history, the war, the cultures and traditions that make up the fabric of rural Italy and of course it includes the recipes and how to cook the Marchigiana way.

Cookucina – The TV cookery series set in Le Marche Italy

Cookucina is a 6 part online TV cookery series – a simple celebration of regional Italian food and the natural ingredients of the mountainous and little-known region of Le Marche.

The TV shows how Marche region has never lost the sustainable food practices that the rest of the world is striving to rediscover.

Food here is grown locally with minimal food miles, farm to table cooking sees most gardens contain an”orto” or allotment, and there is a link between the people and the land; which ensures that the inhabitants know their food and where, how and by whom it is grown or reared.

Set in and around the beautiful medieval town of Sarnano, each episode focuses on the provenance of local food and sees hosts Tam and Lia travel the region to source ingredients, meet the people, explore their culture & customs and demonstrate how to cook these wonderful recipes.
